What’s Old Is New Again: Why Townhouses Are the New ‘It’ Homes

It can be incredibly expensive to find a new home in the Chicago area, but it looks like more and more people are finding the perfect starter home.

Townhouses are less expensive because they take up less land than stand-alone homes, and you can often still find them with some backyard space.

If you're considering moving into a new townhouse, be sure to get the roof inspected by a qualified and professional Chicago roofing company. Our team at NRC is more than prepared to make sure you move into a home with a safe roof.

Townhouses, those classic rows of attached single-family homes that are a fixture in American cities and suburbs alike, got a second wind in the 1960s. That’s due to folks scooping up these existing, and often inexpensive, older abodes as they moved back into the big cities. And now the lovechild of a condominium and standalone house is back again and hotter than ever with both buyers and builders.

Kentucky fans cross the line by trashing referee John Higgins’ business on Facebook | For The Win

We always love the passion of sports fans - and college sports fans tend to be fiercely loyal and vocal during March Madness, but there comes a point when it just gets too personal.

As Chicago roofing contractors, we are grateful for every good review that we get, and it's too bad that one game will affect Higgins' business for a long time to come.

In every close game, there are moments that fans can pick apart as major swings. In the case of Kentucky fans, the officiating from referee John Higgins had Big Blue Nation up in arms. Higgins made a series of questionable foul calls that certainly came back to bite the Wildcats. But after the loss, Kentucky fans took their anger too far. They went after Higgins’ livelihood.

Higgins owns John Higgins Weatherguard, Inc., which is a roofing company based out of Omaha, Neb. Since NCAA officials aren’t paid full-time, many of them hold regular jobs when they’re not officiating. In the case of a roofing company, reviews are a huge tool for prospective clients as they hire a roofer. Well, Kentucky fans have spent the past couple days trashing the review section of Higgins’ company Facebook page.
